The Creation Station is staffed completely by volunteers.  Please join us and help keep our organization going. 

Working in a unique setting, volunteers here at The Creation Station perform a variety of tasks.  You can choose to help educators select low-cost, fun, funky materials for artistic and educational progroms.  You can organize materials for display, creating projects and promoting our programs.  You may also help with workshops, birthday parties and off site program promotion.  If you are interested please contact us either by phone (517-371-2451), by email (creationstationvolunteer@gmail.com) or stop by the store any Thursday 2-6 or Saturday 10-2.

Listed below are specific tasks one can take up as a volunteer:

• Develop project ideas, package and assemble kits used for art or science projects and workshops.

• Work with staff or a board member to facilitate off-site workshops, birthday parties or on-site tours  (typically 2-4 hrs).

• Assist with projects in such areas as public relations, mass-mailings, volunteer coordination, and general office work.  Volunteers may serve on committees based on their individual time commitments.

• Assist with staffing our Creation Station promotional booth at special events throughout the year.  This includes setting-up the booth, conducting activities, and promoting the Creation Station and its mission (typically 2-4 hrs).

• Assist with staffing the store during open hours, 2-6pm Thursday and 10am-2pm Saturday. This entails waiting on customers, organizing new and existing stock,  and answering the general questions about the store both in-person and on the phone.  For every 4 hours of work in any month, volunteers are entitled to select one large bulk $5.00 bag of treasures.
