Workgroup: Parent Coalition

GSC Parent Coalition

The Ingham GSC working with the GSC Parent Coordinators is organizing a Parent Coalition.
The Parent Coalition is a network of parent groups, parent organizations and parent members that are willing to help plan and support the Ingham GSC efforts.
The members of the Parent Coalition will serve as key contacts to a broad range of parent groups to facilitate the exchange of information between the parents, parent groups and the Ingham GSC.

The purpose of the Ingham Great Start Parent Coalitions is:
1. build public support for early childhood investment
2. serve as a sounding board for parent members of the GSC
3. provide a ‘customer’ perspective to GSC members
4. lend support to GSC related efforts

Procedures & Guidelines for Financial Support

The intent of these Procedures and Guidelines is to support the provision of financial support to parents participating in Birth to Five related business and activities, while maintaining user-friendly financial procedures and accountability, which leaves clear paper trails for evaluation and audit purposes.  Additional documents that relate to implementation of these Procedures and Guidelines are contained in an Appendix attached to this document.  A Glossary of Terms is located at the end of this document.  Note:  if the guidelines and procedures in this document do not adequately support a parent to participate, IISD staff will meet individually with parents to determine possible next steps.
